  Research Interests

The solving of environmental problems and concerns over the sustainability of resource use have become one of the fundamental and most urgent tasks for us. My primary research interest is in the assessment of environmental impacts caused by industrial manufacturing processes and related activities. My approach to research revolves around the use of industrial engineering principles in conjunction with various environmental impact assessment methodologies. This allows us to achieve the operational performance objectives while at the same time take into consideration the environmental consequences and other sustainability issues. My previous research has included the investigation of the environmental impacts of nanomaterial-containing products at their end-of-life phases, the quantification of environmental impacts by the use of exergy concept, and the evaluation of direct/indirect water consumption along the supply chain of a manufacturing process.
