SUSTAINABLE ENERGY AND LOW CARBON RESEARCH UNIT (SELC)
Challenges of global climate change, energy insecurity and economic growth can only be solved with rapid development of low carbon technologies and management. There are a wide range of technologies at various stages of development that could contribute to energy and environmental goals. However, they are not being developed at the rate required due to a combination of technological, skill, financial, commercial and regulatory barriers.Faced with the scale and urgency of the energy-environment crises, one of the greatest challenges for the world is to accelerate the commercialization and international transfer of better low carbon technologies and management. Developing countries in particular have the potential to leapfrog existing technologies and move directly onto a low carbon, sustainable economy pathway.
