Expression of Appreciation to Former President of TU Council

Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT) expresses it's sincere gratitude to Professor Khunying Nongyao Chaiseri for her years of guidance and strong support in the establishment and development of SIIT. Professor Khunying Nongyao resigned from the post of the President of the Thammasat University Council on 3 February 2000.

As the President of the Thammasat University Council, Professor Khunying Nongyao was instrumental in the founding of SIIT in 1992 and later strongly supported the creation of SIIT's graduate programs by research - an innovative program within TU - with the aim of stimulating further expansion of academic advancement in Thailand.

We are certain that Professor Khunying Nongyao will continue to excel in any field she decides to pursue. SIIT would like to extend our very best wishes for success in all her future endeavors.

Research Support from JGSEE

The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE), of which SIIT is an academic partner, granted research support to Assistant Professor Dr. Suwanchai Nitisoravut and Assistant Professor Dr. Pichaya Rachdawong of the SIIT Environmental Technology Program who are helping supervise Ph.D. and MPhil. students of the environmental technology program of JGSEE. The research topics are assessment of wetland treatment performance under high salt conditions and impacts of environmental factors on industrial estate site selection. More research support from JGSEE is expected to be granted to faculty members of SIIT.

JGSEE is a semi-autonomous international institute supervised by the Council of King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi. The Consortium of JGSEE comprises King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMT); Chiang Mai University (CMU), King Mongkut's Institute of Technology North Bangkok (KMITNB), Prince of Songkhla University (PSU), and Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT).
