The
Library and Information Services Center provides high quality services, through its collection and access to worldwide information resources, to students, faculty members, and researchers for fulfilling the institute's vision "To be a leading international institute of technology for both teaching/learning and research".




The Library and Information Services Center at Rangsit has a total floor area of 2,518.5 square meters with a seating capacity of 490. A branch library at Sirindhralai Building, SIIT at Bangkadi, has a total floor area of 1,200 square meters with a seating capacity of 180.


At present, the SIIT Library (at Rangsit and Bangkadi) has in total 34,700 volumes of publications and 485 titles of periodicals including technical journals, magazines, and newsletters of which 113 titles are current subscriptions. The Library also provides computer facilities for online access to major science and technology databases such as Dissertation Abstracts Online, IEEE, and ScienceDirect, as well as online journals published by various professional societies including American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). SIIT students can also use the interlibrary loan service of the Library to access publications and information sources of libraries from other leading universities in Thailand.

The following special collections have been developed and maintained since January 1996:
The
Library implemented the VTLS integrated library system in July 1995. The On-line Public Access Catalog (OPAC) and the On-line Circulation systems are now in operation.

The Library Database contains over 23,000 bibliographical records (in
US MARC format) of documents available in the Library. Users can access the library catalog via Internet - VTLS Virtua OPAC (Chameleon iPortal).
Author, title, subject and keyword searches can be performed by choosing entries from a series of menus. Boolean combination search is also available.

Reserved Publications
- Reserved publications are allowed to be checked out after 3:00 pm and must be
returned to the Library by 10:00 am the next morning. During 10:00 am to 3:00 pm the reserved
publications are loaned for a period of three hours.
Fine: 20 baht per reserved publication per hour

- Only students and staff of SIIT, faculty members of SIIT, and faculty members of Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of
Sciences and Technology, Thammasat University are entitled to make use of the facilities in the Library and
Information Services Center.
- The Library will issue library cards to users who have registered with the Library. A new card will be reissued in case of loss, but the user has to pay 100 baht per lost card.
- Users who are dressed inappropriately would be asked to leave the Library.
- Eating, drinking, smoking and noise making are prohibited in the Library.
- Only the users with library cards are allowed to check out publications from the Library.
- Users who have not returned overdue publications are not allowed to check out any additional publication.
- FINES for overdue publications are: 10 baht per item per day for publications from the main collection and 20 baht per item per hour for the reserved publications.
- Users are to reimburse for the loss or damage of materials they checked out from the Library.
- The Library is not responsible for the loss or damage of any personal items left in the Library.
- Users who violate the Library's regulations would be asked to leave the Library and would not be allowed to make use of any Library's facilities.
