| Dr. Sumet Tantivejkul, the President of Thammasat University Council, presented a “Very Good Research Award” from Thammasat University to an SIIT research team comprised of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanaruk Theeramunkong (the leader), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ekawit Nantajeewarawat, Dr. Cholwich Nattee, and Dr. Pakinee Aimmanee for their research on “Research and Development of Supporting Technology for Constructing a Medical-related Knowledge Base in Thailand”, at the “Thammasat University Researchers’ Day” celebrated on 18 November 2008 at Sofitel Centara Grand, Bangkok.
A medical knowledge base was constructed and a set of new algorithms to process such unstructured medical texts was proposed. The research outcomes were published in several international journals. The research was conducted under a grant from the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). |
