| Two master’s degree students from the School of Bio-Chemical Engineering and Technology of SIIT received “Outstanding Oral Presentation” awards and one received an “Outstanding Poster” award at the Pure and Applied Chemistry International Conference 2009 (PACCON 2009), held on 14-16 January 2009, at Naresuan University, Phitsanuklok, Thailand.
Mr. Attapol Kordach received an “Outstanding Oral Presentation” award for his presentation on “Preparation and Properties of Controlled-Release Materials for Urea Fertilizer from Copolyester and Its Blends”. Mr. Sittiwat Kitsatienkun received an “Outstanding Oral Presentation” award for his presentation on “Biosorbents Derived from Chitosan Coated onto Alumina Powder as Cr(VI) Removal Materials”. Mr. Attapol and Mr. Sittiwat conduct their master theses under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Pakorn Opaprakasit.
Mr. Chaichan Siriruang’s poster on “Development of Low Cost Amine-Enriched Solid Sorbent for CO2 Capture” received an “Outstanding Poster” award. Mr. Chaichan’s master’s degree study at SIIT is under the supervision of Dr. Pisanu Toochinda.
In addition, Mr. Suparoek Henpraserttae, a master’s degree student under the supervision of Dr. Pisanu Toochinda, was an invited speaker in the Environmental Chemistry and Chemical Engineering session of PACCON 2009. Mr. Suparoek gave a presentation on “Hydrogen Production for Fuel Cell from Methanol Reforming over Impregnated Cu-Zn/Al2O3 with Urea”.
